P – Presents

(Story shared by Gunjan Gupta)

Being an HR professional, Gunjan considers herself to be a privileged one to be a part of CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) activities. On one such event, the company had asked an orphanage to send them a wish list. The children had sent a list of  things they wanted, such as toys, clothes, stationery, sports items etc. The team then collected the things from the employees as donations.

They went an extra mile to wrap all the items with gift papers to make the kids happier. They also managed to arrange for some snacks and refreshment for the kids and the staff members of the orphanage. As expected, they were all very surprised and happy. The idea to wrap the gifts worked well and they loved it.

Though it was an official event, they added a personal touch to it and made it memorable not just for the kids but for themselves too. They spent the entire day with the kids, playing with them, clicking pictures with them and spreading beautiful smiles.

  1. That was such a warm gesture by the team . Your every post had something to learn and adapt Rashi , like I particularly remember that donate Sunday wala post. 👍👍

  2. Companies where CSR is taken seriously, can take inspiration from this story. A little attention goes a long way in boosting the confidence of these underprivileged kids.

  3. wow, such a lovely gesture and I loved it. indeed small things make a major difference. the world would be better place if we all think in a postive way and do even a small positive thing for others every day.

  4. Beautiful initiative Rashi…. I know many corporates who are doing some genuine acts of goodness and uplifting communities… May the Good sense prevail….

  5. such great gesture, not on a corporate level but I do this often on my kids birthday, by going to an orphanage, the smile on their faces while opening the gifts is priceless.
