Festivals come with a breeze of happiness. Everyone everywhere is in a mood to celebrate. What if this happiness, this celebration and the exuberance was meant for everyone?
My heart goes out for the underprivileged children for whom such festivals bring no happiness. Whether it’s Christmas, Diwali, Holi or New Year, whether it’s winter, summer or rainy, whether they are unwell or not, they have nowhere to go, no place to call it a home, no toy to play with, no food, no clothes, nothing to celebrate.
What if we could share our happiness with them? I wish I could create a place where people could simply donate old and new things. Things that they don’t need anymore, things that don’t add any value to them and things that they might want to buy anew for the needy.
Every child is special and every child has the right to be happy especially when it’s a festive time. I wish someday I can create a sort of bank, maybe, “The Gift Bank” which would have various counters and people can easily walk in and leave their things on the designated counters. Counters of clothes, toys, books, utensils, chocolates etc. and on every festival that our country celebrates, we would gift them to the needy people.
This is a secret wish I have and I hope I can fulfill it someday. Just imagine the amount of happiness we’ll be able to spread. That would be like celebrating our festivals in the real sense.
