UPAY (Underprivileged Advancement by Youth) was founded in May 2010 by a few like minded people from IIT and NIT. They strongly believe that the foundation of development for every society is the education of its youth. Their main aim is to provide opportunities to underprivileged children and bring smiles on the dejected face.
Their initiative,”Footpathshala” was started with the mission of educating children and place books in their hands instead of begging bowls. It started with just 2 volunteers and 15 children and today they have more than 300 volunteers who are educating nearly 1800 children. They have expanded to 5 states and are coming up with 2 more centres for education. If you wish to volunteer you can write to president.upay@gmail.com or advisors.upay@gmail.com
