Story – 1
S – Salary
(Story shared by Shailaja Singh)
Shailaja shares an incident from her corporate days. She worked in the HR department and immediately after the salary was credited, many employees reached out to her with payroll queries.
One of the employees was really worried as he didn’t receive his salary. It was his first salary and he was waiting for it impatiently. After checking his details, she understood that there was a mismatch in his bank credentials due to which his salary was not credited.
The employee was in tears, which was unusual, so she asked him to wait in the cabin and called the other two team members, Manoj and Rashi to help her get a solution. The three of them tried their best, spoke to the bank authorities and the payroll head-quarters but to no avail.
On the other hand, the employee shared his personal issues for which he badly needed the money. They, then went out of their way and decided to help him by giving him cash that was enough for taking care of his personal needs on an immediate basis.
They decided to inform their manager about it before dealing with direct cash. Their manager was highly impressed by their gesture and appreciated them for taking the correct decision at such an early stage of their career as an HR. He returned their money and gave the entire salary amount to the employee from his own pocket.
This incident happened some ten years ago but its still fresh in mind for all of them. They have dealt with numerous payroll queries but this was a special one.
Sometimes, you should go out of your way and help others. If you can, you must.

Story – 2
S – Stranger
(Story shared by Pranav Sitoke)
This is probably the shortest story in my series of sharing goodness but its surely going to leave you with a smile. Pranav, like any other day was waiting in a traffic signal, when he saw a stranger standing beside him. He looked at him and smiled and to his surprise the stranger smiled back!
You never know what a person might be going through in his/her life. It might be a difficult day for someone, sharing a smile with a stranger is surely going to release the stress for a while. So, why not? Try this today, smile at a stranger and let me know he/she smiled back.

Unusual but humane gesture by HR managers. Heart warming.

These little things in life matter the most. A simple smile, a helping hand, a word of appreciation, these are very little things that we never think can do wonders for someone. Loved the stories, Shailja did a great job, empathy is a very rare quality.
Loved both the stories!
Sometimes a simple gesture from a stranger can impact the life in a great way. Nice work. Keep sharing and spreading goodness. Btw I didnt get a response on twitter.
